01 - CHALLENGE
Translating atmosphere into action
Aster House had a distinctive physical experience, but its previous website felt functional rather than evocative. It delivered information, yet did not capture the pace, character, or attention to detail that made the property memorable in person. The website needed to become a genuine first encounter with the stay.
At the same time, visitors needed to compare rooms, explore food and local experiences, understand availability, and book with confidence. The challenge was to balance emotion with utility, avoiding both a generic booking flow and an overly complicated editorial experience.
02 - APPROACH
An editorial journey through the stay
We structured the website around the natural rhythm of a visit: arrive, stay, eat, explore, and return. This gave the content a clear narrative flow while allowing visitors to enter through the path most relevant to them. Large scale photography is paired with concise copy, thoughtful transitions, and direct calls to action.
A modular design system gives the internal team flexibility to publish seasonal offers, local guides, event listings, and journal stories. Navigation stays clear and restrained throughout, while subtle interactions make the experience feel responsive and considered. Every detail supports the same feeling: space to slow down and discover.
03 - OUTCOME
A digital front door
The finished website gives Aster House a richer and more distinctive presence online. It communicates the atmosphere of the property before a guest arrives, while ensuring that important information and booking actions remain simple to access.
The platform also creates a stronger connection between the hotel and its wider cultural programme. Editorial content, restaurant updates, and local recommendations now live within one coherent experience. Aster House has a digital home that feels as calm, welcoming, and memorable as the place itself.
