01 - CHALLENGE
Avoiding the wellness cliché
The wellness category is full of polished imagery, aspirational promises, and language that can feel exclusive. Common Ground needed to introduce itself with a voice that was inclusive, energetic, and culturally aware, without falling into familiar visual codes of high performance fitness or luxury self care.
The campaign also had to work across paid media, social content, environmental graphics, membership communications, and opening events. It needed a strong central idea that could hold the entire launch together, while remaining flexible enough to feel natural in both digital and physical spaces.
02 - APPROACH
Movement made social
We built the campaign around ordinary moments of momentum: arriving, stretching, resetting, and leaving lighter. Instead of staging perfection, the creative direction focused on the feeling of being in motion with other people. The result is candid, warm, and full of small human details.
This approach was brought to life through a bold typographic system, a warm urban palette, and photography that feels immediate rather than overly polished. Messaging focused on invitation instead of instruction, giving the brand a confident but open tone. Every element was designed to make participation feel possible from the first encounter.
03 - OUTCOME
A launch people could step into
The campaign established Common Ground as more than a fitness destination. It introduced a welcoming visual world and a clear emotional proposition: wellbeing with others, on your own terms. The launch felt active and visible, while remaining grounded in the daily realities of its local audience.
The creative direction now extends beyond the opening campaign. It provides a consistent foundation for membership materials, event programming, in club communication, and social content. Common Ground has a visual language that can evolve with its community while staying recognisable, warm, and energising.
