SCROLL

Threadline is a collaborative workspace for small creative teams managing projects, feedback, and approvals. We redesigned its product experience to make complex work feel calmer and easier to follow. The new interface brings tasks, conversations, and decisions into a clear visual hierarchy, helping teams spend less time searching for context and more time moving work forward together.

01 - CHALLENGE

Reducing noise in collaborative work

Threadline had grown quickly, adding useful features in response to real customer needs. However, the product had become difficult to scan. Important feedback could disappear within activity streams, project progress was not always clear, and new users struggled to understand where they should begin.

The challenge was not to remove capability, but to organise it with more intention. Teams needed a clearer sense of what required attention, what had changed, and what had already been decided. The experience also needed to work for project leads, collaborators, and clients with different levels of familiarity.

02 - APPROACH

Designing around moments of clarity

We mapped the key journeys across project setup, daily work, review, and approval. Rather than treating every screen as a separate problem, we focused on the recurring moments where people need confidence: understanding priorities, finding context, and taking the next step.

The interface was rebuilt around a focused dashboard, simplified project views, and a consistent component system. Visual hierarchy, colour, spacing, and interaction patterns were used carefully to guide attention. Small cues show status and progress without overwhelming the workspace, creating an experience that feels more composed at every level.

03 - OUTCOME

A quieter, more capable product

Threadline now feels more intuitive from the first session while retaining the depth that established teams rely on. Users can identify priorities at a glance, follow decisions with less friction, and move between projects without losing context.

The redesigned system also supports the product team internally. A shared library of components and patterns makes future features easier to design and build with consistency. The result is a product that feels less like a collection of tools and more like a clear, reliable place to work together.
